With SpeedFan, motherboard monitor or Core Temp it is possible, to output the CPU temperature in the task tray (next to the Windows clock) at any time and optionally send an alert on high temperature values. It is also advisable to monitor the temperatures of the components during overclocking. To do this, you should know first some background information. I'm sure it was them causing the problems. This point is kept slightly more detailed, because it is extremely important to keep the correct temperature values. I've had no issues since, so I will see how it goes. These lately have been having a few errors, specifically when installing games to them, and my PC hasn't posted twice lately on separate occasions,(I think due to these drives), so I disconnected them last night, and am now using a 1 TB external HDD until I replace these 2 with a 1 or 2 TB internal HDD. I'll probably upgrade my stock cooler to a Hyper 212 EVO some time over the next few months.Īs I said earlier my PC has been running flawlessly since I built it, but has 2 parts (2 500 GB HDDS) which are from my old PC. running some encoding, playing GTA V, and The Division and temps were staying around 70c after 20 - 30 minutes play. If you aren't overclocking, then an aio would be a waste of money If it can fit in your case, I'd recommend the 212 evo. But I can understand why you would want the let temps. So long as your temps aren't over 83-85☌ then you're fine. It's not like 50☌ load temps do anything. Since I built the PC its been completely stable with no crashes, freezes, or blue screens.

Is this a "safe" temp for the CPU while playing certain games ? On GTA V the temp still never goes above 65 on the CPU. Last night whilst playing "The Division" which I got free with the 970 I noticed my CPU temp go up to 78 after gaming for around 45 minutes on Ultra settings. GPU temp on idle is 43c, and 65 to 70 while gaming. Idle Temps went up slightly to 38 - 40, but usually rest at around 35 on idle most of the time. Just recently I bought a EVGA GTX 970 SSC that has been running perfectly, with no OC so far. I build my first PC back in September of last year, with the following specs.Ĭore i5 4690K 3.5 GHz (with stock cooler)Īt that time I was using the iGPU for gaming until I could buy a graphics card and was getting idle temps of 33c, and maximum temps of 60 - 65c while gaming (GTA V)
